WELCOME TO BALDWIN COMMUNITY PRESCHOOL
PARENT INVOLVEMENT
Why be involved? : Many studies have been conducted over the past 30 years that identify parent involvement as the most important factor in student success in schools. Benefits of parent involvement include higher reading scores, higher grades in homework, improved attitudes toward school, and improved relationships between parents and teachers.
Ways to be involved: It is the schools mission to develop your child as a whole. We will spend the year providing opportunities for your child to grow socially, emotionally, physically, spiritually, and cognitively. Because of your involvement we are able to provide health screenings such as speech, hearing and vision throughout the year. Whether you are available to escort the children to and from the screenings or taking the time to return the forms in a timely fashion; this shows your child that their time in school is important.
Other ways to support your preschool are reading papers daily that are provided by the school that are in your child’s folder, making tuition payments on time, supporting any fund raising, talking to your child about his/her school by using open ended questions, keeping us current with your child’s status; who is picking up when, any anxieties or school concerns, family issues that we need to be aware of such as separation, divorce, new baby, family illnesses.
As you can see there are needs of the school for volunteers but there is also the need for opportunities to participate in your child’s class. You have no idea the joy it brings to a child when someone who cares about them is in the classroom. It doesn’t always have to be a Mother or Father; it can be an Aunt, Uncle, Grandparent or caregiver.
COMMUNICATION
Parent-teacher: A folder is being provided that your child will bring back and forth from school each day that includes letters to the teacher, forms, and tuition payments
Office: To improve communication between the school and home we would like for you to consider putting your email address on the list being passed around. This will provide you with reminders from the preschool such as upcoming deadlines, or any news and events. To assure confidentiality, all email addresses will be blind copied so that others cannot see your email address. Be sure to notify the office of any email changes throughout the year.
PROGRAMS
Lunch bunch: For an additional $16.00 per class, the extended day program is designed for children to lengthen their day either before or after preschool. Classes are limited to thirteen and must have ten children enrolled in each session. An Enrichment bulletin board is located outside of room 117 where signup sheets are posted. Payment must be made prior to the class.
Enrichment: Children would stay one additional one day a week for an additional fee and have lunch with their peers
TUITION
Procedure: No invoices, Cash/Check to office, include name on memo since many are not the same as student’s name
