WELCOME TO BALDWIN COMMUNITY
PRESCHOOL
The first Thursday of every month the
preschool will be having a fund raiser for the upkeep of the Natural Playscape
at the
Italian Oven.
Come and enjoy the delicious food from 8:00 AM-9:00 PM. We
will receive ten percent of every bill. We will put flyers every month at the
back of the worship services for you to pick up or if you ask them at the
Italian Oven they will provide you with a copy too!
Our next fundraiser is
January 4
God Bless,
Carol
We have really enjoyed our new Natural
Playscape and curriculum that has been implemented this school year. In the
fall, we watched the sunflowers and pumpkins grow, measured them and then
watched the birds and animals use them for food. We could see deer, raccoon and
turkey have been frequenting the Playscape.
Now that winter is approaching, we will continue to feed the squirrels
with our new feeder and fill the bird feeder with sunflower seeds. The children
watch with such excitement and are just as surprised as we are how much they
eat. Once the snow arrives we will watch the footprints of the many visitors in
the snow. We are hoping that the children will be able to make snow angels,
too. I promise to keep you updated as to what other creatures are enjoying the
new Natural Playscape!

We each made a Gingerbread House!
OUR
The Church has spent a
tremendous amount of money this summer updating the school with paint and new
flooring. We want to thank them for their ongoing support of their ministry of
being an outreach to the community. Every
month you will receive a newsletter from the Church which will make you aware
of the programs that are available to you. You do not need to be a Church
member in order to participate in any of the activities. Our very own preschool
parent has started a yoga class on Monday and Wednesday’s mornings. You will
have the opportunity to support the Church’s food bank which we refer to as the
Lord’s Pantry. A box located outside of my office is available for donations
all year round. Many other programs such as the annual rummage sale being held
here in late September provide support of our preschool scholarship funds.
PROCEDURES THAT ARE
ESSENTIAL
TO KEEP A SCHOOL
RUN
SMOOTHLY.
TUITION: The 15th of every month a payment is due from
September through April. A 3% discount will be given for anyone that pays their
tuition in full by September 1. Checks
can be written to Baldwin Community
Preschool and placed in the tuition box located in the Preschool office or
in your child’s folder. Policy requires that a receipt be issued when a cash
payment is made. An additional $10.00 will be charged for payments that are not
made by the 15th of every month unless you have notified the
Director in advance. Families that choose to make 2 installments should make
the 2nd payment October 15-no invoices are issued. Families that
want to pay with cash need to give that directly to the Director.
SECURITY
SYSTEM: All
families are required to have at least one fob issued to their family so that
they can freely come into the building.
Sharing key fobs is not recommended. Most families that have multiple
members coming consistently lose track of where it is. More fobs can be ordered
at any time throughout the year. Fobs are programmed to work 5 minutes before
class begins.
PARKING: Unless you are using the handicapped parking
everyone is required to park across the street. Temporary handicapped cards are
available in the office. Special arrangements can be made with other parents in
your child’s class to bring your child to and from the car if circumstances
make it too difficult to come into the school.
HEALTH ASSESSMENT FORMS: An age-appropriate health form
provided by the school must be completed by your child’s physician every year.
This must be submitted to the preschool office no later than October 31. If
your child was enrolled last year and they have an updated form in their file,
they will not need to bring in a new one until that one expires. You can email
me if you are not sure if your child’s form is current.
ENRICHMENT: For an additional $16.00 per class, the extended day
program is designed for children to lengthen their day either before or after
preschool. Classes are limited to
thirteen and must have ten children enrolled in each session. An Enrichment bulletin board is located
outside of room 117 where signup sheets are posted. Payment must be made prior
to the class.
FUNDRAISING: A limited amount of fundraising is usually done
throughout the year. Tonight you will receive a copy of the Kidstuff coupon
book which is our biggest fundraiser of the year. The cost of the book is
$25.00. We earn $12.50 for every book sold. If you are not able to use or pay
for the book yourself, please consider selling it to someone in your family or
workplace. Additional copies are available.
Most of the monies raised are to provide scholarships for the preschool.
We will also be working with the Italian Oven on a monthly promotion. Every
month on a designated day that you come in with a flyer from the preschool we
will receive 10% of the money spent. These proceeds will be used for the upkeep
of the Natural Playscape.
PARENT
INVOLVEMENT: Last
year at Parent Kickoff Night we discussed why parents should be involved and
most importantly how. The benefits of Parent involvement include higher test
scores, higher grades in homework, and improved attitude toward school. Simply
reading the handouts that are sent home, returning papers in a timely manner,
paying tuition on time and supporting any fundraising are easy ways to be
involved. If you are available to come into the building to help it is always
appreciated but we realize that not everyone is able to do that.
We get Exercise in Preschool.
