Preschool Programs Available

The Baldwin Community United Methodist Church Preschool is an integral part of the Discipleship Ministries of the Baldwin Community United Methodist Church. The program provides opportunities for children to develop spiritual growth in a loving and nurturing Christian environment. Our program has served the South Hills Community faithfully since 1952, providing an excellent "first school experience". Currently there are 150+ children enrolled in our program. PROGRAM...

Baldwin Community United Methodist Church Preschool offers the following classes:

"Tots Club":18 month - 2 year olds with a Parent or Caregiver

  • Classes offered Thursday  mornings from 9:30 am to 11:30 am
  • Class meets one session per week
  • Children must be eighteen month old by September 1

This interactive program is facilitated by a certified teacher. Children must be accompanied by a parent, grandparent, relative or caregiver. It is a time for fun, friendship, creating together and cooperative play.

 

Two Day Class for Two Year Olds

 

  • Monday and Wednesday mornings
  • Tuesday and Friday mornings
  • 9:30 am - 11:30 am
  • Children must be two by September 1

 

In this two year old class a great deal of time is devoted to the issue of separation and the development of new relationships.  The class is centered on simple exploration and investigation. 

 

Three year olds:

  • Monday, Wednesday and Friday morning and afternoon classes
  • Tuesday and Thursday morning and afternoon classes
  • Children must be three by September 1
  • Morning classes: 9:15-11:45
  • Afternoon classes: 12:30-3:00

In this program we help develop and enhance the social, emotional, physical, spiritual and cognitive skills of every child. Each session has a variety of activities including story time, music, art, free play and teacher directed activities.

 

Four year olds:

  • Children must be four by September 1
  • Monday, Wednesday and Friday
  • Mornings  9:15 am - 11:45 am
  • Afternoons 12:30 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
  • Monday through Thursday morning classes 9:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.

The four day children will experience many hands on activities that are developmentally appropriate for four year olds. We offer hands on work with an excellent balance between structured and freelance play. Each session has a variety of activities that will enable your child to begin to prepare for Kindergarten.

 

Four-and-a-half and Five year olds:

  • Classes offered Monday thru Friday
  • Morning classes: 9:00 am - 11:30 am
  • Children must be four and a half by September 1
  • Children must have previous preschool experience
The five day program is geared to giving your child greater responsibility in the classroom and encouraging independent thinking and problem solving skills. We offer hands on activities that develop skills that are needed for Kindergarten readiness. We further enhance the social, emotional, physical, spiritual, and cognitive development of every child with an emphasis on developmentally appropriate practices.
