Open Conversation on Heaven and Hell

Who is going where, and for how long?

What do you have to do to get into to heaven?

What to you have to do, or not do, to go to hell?

We will jump into the new and ancient debate about heaven and hell.

Recently Rob Bell’s book Love Wins has stirred up a controversy, to the point of his book being banded from Christian bookstores.  Francis Chan is one of the authors that has responded to Bell’s book by writing his own, Erasing Hell.

We will look at these two books and the long history of orthodoxy and Christian thought on this great subject.

Come and plan to join in the conversation.

Kerygma Bible Study

Kerygma – God is Faithful

At the heart of the Bible's story is a relationship between

God and people, sparked by God's initiative, sustained by

God's promise, and sealed in covenant terms.  Come, track the narrative as

God holds steady while the people struggle to keep faith and fulfill their

mission in God's world. The covenant relationship is explored from

Abraham through Moses, David, and the Prophets, up to

Jesus - calling us to renew our place among God's loyal

people.  7 Sessions

The Prodigal God

Two Sons

One son kept the rules religiously.

One son broke them all.  One father loved them both

beyond anything they could ever imagine.

The Prodigal God  is a dramatic teaching study

based on Jesus’ best known –and least understood –

parable: The parable of the Prodigal Son.

This new teaching dramatically illustrates through film,

book and a discussion guide, Timothy

Keller’s core message: that the gospel is neither religion

or irreligion, niether morality, or

immorality, but something else entirely.

One Table

Not just any table, but the Father’s table, where a lavish

extravagant feast of forgiveness and mercy is offered to

everyone.

Many To Welcome Home

Both the “younger brothers” and the “elder brothers” in

our community will realize that the only way home, the

only way to finding a place at the table, is to recognize

and accept the lavish, reckless and abundant love of a

prodigal God.
